Who Am I?
I am Jill White, a lifelong educator with over 17 years of experience helping students find their voice through writing.
I hold a B.A. in English and Psychology, a Master’s degree in the Teaching of English, and a New Hampshire Library Media Certificate.
Experience
Over the years, I have had a successful and rewarding career teaching English at both the middle and high school levels in both private and public schools. I feel fortunate to have forged meaningful connections with students across the U.S. – including Okemos, MI; Corning, NY; and Portsmouth, NH – as well as in London, England. In 2001, I participated in a Fulbright Teacher Exchange in the U.K., an honor that shaped me both personally and professionally. These varied and rich classroom experiences have helped me grow into a confident, highly skilled educator who understands how to support a wide range of learners.
Passions
I’m passionate about teaching English and writing. When I’m not helping students, my favorite activities are walking in the woods with my dog, Ollie; reading a good book; and playing tennis with friends and family. Combining my two passions – tennis and teaching, I serve as a part-time U.S.T.A. Tennis Coach, helping both youth and adults build skills, confidence, and a love of the game.
